Your Gift of Intuition
Have you ever had that feeling when, all of a sudden, you just knew something was going to happen, and then, to your surprise, that day, the next day, or even a week later, it actually did happen? Have you ever thought about someone you haven't heard from in a long while and then, out of the blue, they call or you run into them somewhere? That was your intuition at work.
Intuition is a natural part of you; you were born with it. It's meant to serve as a guide and advisor. If you listen to it, it will keep you happy and out of harm's way.
Intuition shows itself in various ways from a little nagging thought that just won't go away, to dreams, to a huge slam that says 'Hey! Pay attention here!'. These last ones usually show up when you haven't paid attention to the previous messages you were given. Your intuitive messenger can be persistent, and I've found, over the course of my many years, that it's much, much less trouble if you just listen the first time.
In the beginning you usually get a little glimmer of a thought, or a 'hunch', or a 'gut feeling' that you "just know" something. This information from your higher intelligence, your soul or whatever you want to call it, is always accurate for you. Whether you hear actual words, see a clear picture in your mind, or have a deep sense of inner knowing, you must become aware of how your intuition works with you and then trust it. You can trust it; it's there for you.
Why bother developing your intuition? There are many benefits to having a strong intuitive sense, the least of which is having fun making your friends say "how'd you do that?!"
Listening to your intuition promotes good communication. It makes you more sensitive to the people and situations around you, and gives you an edge in understanding them a little bit more. It can enhance your creativity no matter what your mode of expression is.
And I'd say the most important reason to develop your intuition would be the healing quality it has. It makes you much more aware of your body and your emotions, letting you when something's not right.
Various kinds of hypnosis, self-hypnosis, NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), and meditation are some ways that can help you develop this wonderful gift you were given. It's really not hard to do, it just takes time and practice.
One last note: don't be afraid to check out the truth of the messages your intuition gives you. The more you find you're right, the more confidence you'll have in your ability, and the stronger your intuition gets.
